Benefit News

Alex Bevan and Michael Stanley will play an intimate all-acoustic concert, weaving the songs and stories that defined being young, alive and seeking one’s fate in Northern Ohio for the last quarter century.

For Stanley, whose MSB shattered attendance records with multiple night stands at Blossom Music Center and the Front Row, his rock torn from the roots of the heartland found its way from Billboard’s Top 20 to “American Bandstand,” while Bevan, whose “Skinny Li’l Boy” was a revelry anthem, plied a wide-eyed acoustic/folk approach that celebrated the natural beauty of the Grand River, Kelly’s Island and the innocence of first love.

This will be the first time these iconic singer/songwriters will share a stage -- and they do it to benefit the Roots of American Music, celebrating their 10th anniversary Saturday, October 10 at Cleveland’s celebrated Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Road.

This never before pairing benefits Roots of American Music, dedicated to bringing indigenous music performances and programs into schools least able to afford them. The evening will also include a silent auction and raffle of music-related items. General admission tickets for the concert only are $50 ($30 tax deductible). VIP ticket, including a catered dinner at the Beachland Tavern, drink tickets, priority reserved seating and valet parking, are $125 ($75 tax deductible). VIP tickets always sell out quickly.
